The GPSMap 64 is the flagship model of handheld recreational GPS units from Garmin. It is available in three models: a base model, the GPSMap 64, a 64s model, and a 64st model, with variants for the US and Canada. All of them feature a 2.6 " color display, Quad-Helix antennae and GLONASS compatibility. GLONASS is the Russian GPS satellite system, supported on most currect Garmin unitsl.

The 64s model, pictured here, includes wireless connectivity with Bluetooth and ANT+, which allow it to connect to heart rate, temperature or cadence monitors, or to control a Garmin VIRB Action Camera. Bluetooth can be used to interface it with a Smartphone. The 64st model has all the features of the 64s, but comes with TOPO maps at 100K for either the US or Canada.

The GPSMap 64 models run on standard AA batteries, or an optional rechargeable NiMH battery pack. Standard memory is 4 gigabytes on the base and 64s models, and 8 gigabytes on the 64st. Additional memory can be added in the form of a Micro-SD card.

The included one-year subscription to Garmin's Birdseye Satellite Imagery allows the user to download satellite maps into the GPS from a desktop computer. The Birdseye Satellite Imagery by itself costs 29.99 per year.
